We are the proud descendants of Shri (Late Mr) Bachu Sardar and Shimati (Late Mrs) Sirtaji (Sardarin) who were born in 1869 and 1894 respectively in India. This website was created in 2006 to pay tribute to these two individuals and to commemorate the first ever Bachu Family Reunion which was held in Sydney, Australia from 21 \u2013 23 March 2008.<\/p>\n

Bachusardar.com is created for the descendants of Shri (Mr) Bachusardar and Shrimati (Mrs) Sirtaji who came from India to Fiji in 1884 and 1897 respectively.<\/p>\n

Shri Bachusardar and Shrimati Sirtaji or Sardarin as she was affectionately known, had 5 sons and 5 daughters.\u00a0 It is sad to know that none of the 10 siblings is with us today. However, it is consoling to know that the Bachu siblings are reunited with their parents in a better place.<\/p>\n

The Reunion 2008 was a huge success; we talk about it even now. Such an event is not easy to organise, yet it was extremely well done and was appreciated by everyone.<\/p>\n

Someone once said to me that \u201cYou can pick up from where one leaves regardless of the passage of time or the physical distance in between\u2026 its called a meeting of the minds and where the hearts align – nothing comes in between\u201d<\/strong> and this was evident when we met our family members after so many years and for some, we met for the first time.<\/p>\n

Family connections and bonds stay with us for the rest of our lives. The purpose of the Bachu Family reunion was to renew and form new relationships, to introduce the young to the young at heart so that they inherit and continue with the traditions that has been instituted with this reunion and continue with the reconnection process.<\/p>\n
